P1 DISCOTHEATER IM HAUS DER KUNST 60 Jahre nach seiner Gründung und sechs Jahre nach der letzten umfassenden Neugestaltung steht das P1 erneut vor einer spannenden Weiterentwicklung. Während die Räumlichkeiten im Souterrain in eine neue, grandiose Clublandschaft verwandelt werden, ist der außergewöhnliche Theatersaal im Haus der Kunst für 10 Monate Schauplatz eines einzigartigen Discotheaters.

P1 BAR Im Oktober 2009 eröffnete die P1 Bar am Westeingang ihre Pforten. Dienstag bis Samstag wird hier ab 19 Uhr in einem stilvollen, aber ungezwungenen Ambiente die wahrscheinlich beste Pizza der Stadt serviert. Beachtlich ist der vier Meter hohe Bar-Altar mit über 60 Wodkamarken aus aller Welt. Passend dazu: Die professionellen Barkeeper wissen, wie ein perfekter Drink zubereitet und serviert wird.

P1 CLUB IM THEATERSAAL Der P1 Club folgte im November 2009. Die monumentalen Räumlichkeiten um den 16 Meter hohen Theatersaal bieten Platz für 1.100 Gäste. Der Zutritt erfolgt über die Nordterrasse mit ihrer beeindruckenden Säulenkulisse und Blick auf den Englischen Garten.

Zentrum des Clubs ist die 90qm fassende Tanzfläche unmittelbar am DJ-Pult. Sie ist gesäumt von Tanzpodesten und sechs Bars. Sitzlogen auf unterschiedlichen Höhenebenen bieten eine illustre Rückzugmöglichkeit.

Der Saal ist mit phantastischer Theaterakustik und einem erstklassigen Soundsystem ausgestattet. 16 Videobeamer und ein ausgefeiltes Lichtkonzept machen die Voraussetzungen für ausgefallene Inszenierungen perfekt. Somit sind auch optimale Rahmenbedingungen für die verschiedensten Veranstaltungen auf höchstem Niveau geschaffen – gesetzte Menüs, Produktpräsentationen, Modenschauen oder Konzerte.

Das Entertainment Programm setzt neue Maßstäbe in der Münchner Clubszene. Professionelle Artisten, Akteure und Freigeister tanzen, unterhalten, animieren und entführen in die Traumwelten des Discotheaters. Jeden Freitag gibt es echte Booking-Highlights - von Lokalmatadoren über Live-Acts bis hin zu Internationeln DJ Größen. Ein VJ setzt den Sound perfekt in Bilder um.

Der Theatersaal wird bis voraussichtlich September 2010 Heimat des P1 sein, dann ist die Eröffnung des neuen Clubs im Souterrain geplant.

HISTORIE Die Geschichte des P1 begann 1949, als im heutigen Cafe „Goldene Bar“, im Haus der Kunst, ein Officer’s Club eröffnete - für die in München stationierten US-Amerikaner kurz das P-one, als Abkürzung für Prinzregentenstraße 1.

In den 60er Jahren wurde der Officer´s Club zum „Künstleratelier“. Der Grieche Alecco führte den Nachtclub zu Bekanntheit und Glorie und prägte die noch heute gültige Grundidee des P1.

1984 setzte hier der junge Michael Käfer als erster die in New York erlernte Philosophie des legendären Studio 54 um. Durch aufsehenerregende Partys, eine harte Türpolitik und prominente Gästen wurde das P1 zu Deutschlands bekanntester Diskothek.

Michael Käfer hat die operative Geschäftsführung längst an seinen langjährigen Geschäftsführer Franz Rauch übergeben, der 2002 mit der Unternehmensgruppe ROKUNDCO P1-Teilhaber wurde. Es folgte ein erfolgreicher Relaunch mit Unterstützung des Star-Architekten Matteo Thun.

Sechs Jahre später sollen nun wiederholt neue Maßstäbe in der Clubkultur gesetzt werden. Um dem Anspruch einer Premium-Location auch in Zukunft gerecht zu werden, wird das P1 derzeit umfassend saniert. Der neue P1 Club wird im Herbst 2010 eröffnen und in Sachen Kreativität und Exklusivität halten, was der Name verspricht.

P1 DISCO THEATRE IN »HAUS DER KUNST« - "DISCO THEATER"

60 years after it was established, and six years after the last major reconstruction the P1 is once again on the brink of an exciting new development. While the rooms in the basement are transformed into a new, grand club scenery, the extraordinary theatre hall in the Haus der Kunst will set the stage for a unique disco theatre over the next 10 months.

P1 BAR In October 2009, the P1 bar opened at the west entrance. From 7 p.m. Tuesday thru Saturday the probably best pizza in town is served in a stylish but casual atmosphere. The four-meter-high altar bar with over 60 brands of vodka from around the world is striking. As the perfect complement, the professional bartender know exactly how to mix and serve the perfect drink.

P1 CLUB THEATRE HALL The P1 Club was next in November 2009. The monumental premises surrounding the 16-meter-high auditorium easily accommodate up to 1,100 guests. The entrance is via the north terrace with its spectacular backdrop of pillars and a magnificient view of the English Garden.

At the center of the club is the 90 sqm dance floor right at the DJ console. It is lined with dance podiums and six bars. Seat boxes at different height levels provide an illustrious retreat.

The hall is equipped with fantastic theatre acoustics and a high-class sound system. 16 video projectors and a sophisticated lighting concept complete the conditions for extravagant enactments. Thus optimal conditions at the highest level are created for various events – set menus, product presentations, fashion shows and concerts.

The entertainment program sets new standards in the Munich club scene. Professional artists, actors and free spirits dance, entertain, stimulate and lead you into the dream worlds of the disco theatre. Every Friday there are some genuine booking highlights - from local heroes to live acts to DJs of international renown. A VJ translates the sound into images perfectly.

The theatre hall will be home to P1 until approx. September 2010, the opening of the new club in the basement is planned after that.

HISTORY The history of the P1 began in 1949 when, in today's Cafe 'Golden Bar', at the Haus der Kunst, an officer’s club opened – the US-Citizens stationed in Munich abbreviated the name of the street where it was located, Prinzregentenstraße 1, and simply called it 'P-one'.

In the 60s the Officer's Club was converted to an "art studio". The Greek Alecco led the nightclub to fame and glory, and shaped the still valid basic principle of the P1.

1984 the young Michael Käfer was the first to bring to Munich the philosophy he had learned at the legendary Studio 54 in New York. With spectacular parties, a strict door policy and high-profile guests P1 quickly became Germany's most famous nightclub.

Meantime Michael Käfer has transferred the operational management to his longtime CEO Franz Rauch, who in 2002 became a part owner of P1 with the corporate group ROKUNDCO. This was followed by a successful re-launch with the support of the star architect Matteo Thun.

Six years on new standards are to be set in the club culture once more. To meet the requirements of a premium location now and in future, the P1 is currently being fully renovated. The new P1 Club will open in autumn 2010 and in terms of creativity and exclusiveness live up to it’s reputation.
